I haven't heard of anything bad, but it is supposedly extremely rare to get this on your pokemon. My friend has suggested that I should spread it to all my pokemone as soon as possible if I want to prolong it Meaning infecting a pokemon, assuming he has 2 days left, 1 day after it was obtain by the host will infect it for three days.

I wanted to know if anyone else has ever encounter this strange phenomenon before, and would perhaps give some input about it.

Its not known exactly how many days it lasts, however on the final day it is always cured at midnight. Once a Pokemon is cured it still gains the benefits but it can no longer spread the virus. The cured state is indicated by a smiley face on the summary screen. If you want to retain access to the virus catch a junk Pokemon and keep it in your party until it is infected and then store it in a box until needed making sure to always return it to the box by midnight.

After a few battles, atleast one new Pokemon should catch Pokerus. You can try switching around the Pokemon to make sure it spreads quickly. After one to four days at midnight , Pokerus will no longer be contagious, but your Pokemon will still have it in their system.
