Can you see the dark? Can you fix the broken? Can you feel, can you feel my heart? Can you help the hopeless? Well, I'm begging on my knees Can you save my bastard soul? Will you ache for me? I'm sorry brother So sorry lover Forgive me father I love you mother Can you hear the silence? Can you feel my heart? I'm scared to get close and I hate being alone I long for that feeling to not feel at all The higher I get, the lower I'll sink I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim I'm scared to get close and I hate being alone I long for that feeling to not feel at all The higher I get, the lower I'll sink I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim I'm scared to get close and I hate being alone I long for that feeling to not feel at all The higher I get, the lower I'll sink I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim Can you feel my heart?
This song gives me sad, chilled and metal vibes at the same time. Its very similar to drown, also very chilled but a lot of energy at the same time. Oh babang oli, meskipun suaramu tak seserak dulu, meskipun rambutmu ta segondrong dulu, ku tetap berimajinasi denganmu bang.. Inikah yg dinamakan jatuh cinta onlen.. Pengen ngebucin aja rasanya ya allah..
Imut banget sih makhluk kafir satu ini.. By the way this is one of my top list bmth's song. I always play this song on loop mode for hours, all night long when i was feeling low. I dont wish for oli goes back to 'this era', all i wish is this song will always chill me through my darkest hour.. Ps: i dont even skip the ad cz the ad shows a drum cover of this song, so i still listen and sink to this song's depression vibe..
The instrumentals are great, but the guy's voice sounds like it'll scratch the non-stick off your baking tray. Oli is such a hero to me. He saved me from a dark phase of my life, when I was nearly sectioned.
I just want to say thanks to him if I ever meet him. He is such a inspiration to me. After listening to Varien's version i just cant go back to the original bro.. You're the one who taught them how to swim bro, you only have yourself to blame. Can you feel Will you wait for me? Can you feel my heart? I'm scared to get close and I hate being alone I long for that feeling to not feel at all The higher I get, the lower I'll sink I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim.

Sorry to inform you, but it is indeed drugs that he is referring to. In the context of the other lyrics around it, drug use is implied. Galyy of course it can, I can totally see it that way, and yes Kuri, but the hipsters think of it as its cool or something, it can honestly be whatever people want it to be, thats the great thing about music.
WastedLive on September 05, DeathAngel on February 20, General Comment I honestly think this song is about depression.
Can you hear the silence He is so depressed he's drowning in his own thoughts and can't mentally hear anything Can you see the dark? He's surrounded by darkness Can you fix the broken? He has become a broken person Can you feel my heart? It feels to him like his heart stopped beating Can you help the hopeless? Well, I'm begging on my knees. He feels hopeless because he can't get out of his downward spiral, and is begging someone to help him Can you save my bastard soul?
He feels like his soul has been deformed by his depression Will you wait for me? He asks someone to wait 'till he comes out of that state of mind I'm sorry brothers, so sorry lover, forgive me father, I love you mother He's asking for their forgiveness because he has done, or is about to do, something terrible I'm scared to get close, and I hate being alone He's afraid that, if he gets close, he'll be hurt by that person, but he doesn't like to be alone I long for that feeling to not feel at all He wants to stop feeling and forget about everything The higher I get, the lower I'll sink If he has a peak in his recovery, he'll have a bigger fall I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim He's talking about his thoughts, and how he has tried to shut them up, but they always come back Ninchuser on June 18, Link.
Ninchuser i think that's what the song is referring to patrickgxg on October 11, General Comment The whole song is basically about him trying to find different ways to escape his problems through drugs, alcohol, or people. All the questions he asks are directed at someone. No Replies Log in to reply. My Interpretation I actually think this song means much more than only drugs and alcohol. It's like a shout from the inside trying to escape from oneself. I love you mother" Is like a state trying to say that s he regrets all the bad decisions made that hurt others something quite common when we feel we're a failure I think the lyrics are asking for help, asking for a route of escape, a way of change.
Also: "I'm scared to get close and I hate being alone I long for that feeling to not feel at all The higher I get, the lower I'll sink I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim" That part I think it's more about the fact that we feel hopeless and helpless and without strength, meaning at the end that our mind - the negative thoughts and the demons we rise - are, usually, way more powerful than our will to change because they are scary and unknown.
It's like a way of saying that we he prefers to feel numb, but that also means he will stay alone with the demons inside his mind. General Comment I love this song so much! Mad that they are doing this too for friends bands now, really love them :D jessheartxx on August 14, Link. My Interpretation Here's what I feel.
The song "Can You Feel My Heart" by Bring Me the Horizon is a song representing the common inner turmoils of juvenile criminals influenced by the culture of alcohol, drugs, smoking, gambling and the like. These themes are presented through the song lyrics accompanied by a compelling melody.
The lyrics uses juxtaposition to bring about the idea of inner conflict within youth facing the same addicitions as the singer, who represents an anonymous youth estimated to be around his teenage years. The first line, "Can you hear the silence", presents the idea of hearing nothing.
The use of juxtaposition here shows how a teenager is trying to seek advice but receives nothing. It can also represent how the teenager is drowning in his own thoughts, unable to hear the outside world, his mother's ranting, his dog's barking and normal, everyday noises.
This could show how the world is silent and empty towards the teenager rather than the teenager being unwilling to hear the world. The second line states "Can you see the dark", which is another use of juxtaposition in the song's lyrics. Although it is understood that light is needed for one to see, and darkness is the absence of light, the lyrics present this individual as trying to "see" even though there is nothing to see, or nothing to enable him to see. This could also mean his vision is blurred by the fog ahead.
This can possibly be depicting his future if he continues with his addictions, and can also recognise how these youths are blindly following these bad examples and falling into the pit of depression.
The next line is "Can you fix the broken". Once an object is broken, it is understood that it is beyond repair and can no longer be fixed, yet this youth is trying to fix the broken despite it being impossible.
This could present the youth's future too, which has been broken to the extent where it is unfixable. These few lines present the idea of doing the impossible through the use of juxtaposition, yet it also shows that the teenager still has hope in doing so. It also appears that he is apparently talking to someone, asking him if he can "hear the silence The person he is talking to will be explained later on in this analysis.
The last line is the most powerful of all. After all the juxtaposition being used, the lyrics goes on to describe feeling "my" heart as impossible, like all the previous situations in the first four lines of the song lyrics. The youth's heart is now unable to be contacted with. This can show, as the heart symbolises love and feelings, how the teenager is now emotionless, unable to feel love.
It can also describe how the teenager is slowly dying, as the heart is considered one of the most important organs needed for survival. As it is now impossible to feel his heart, this can present him dying on the hospital bed, his heart slowly slowing, becoming numb and useless to him as his hearing and vision - both important senses - fade away, along with his character, which is broken, and his feels for emotion.
The next four lines consists of three questions, one of which was further elaborated in a separate line. It also uses juxtaposition, though now straight to the point and describing the teenager instead of abstract ideas. The first line in this group, "Can you help the helpless", presents the idea of saving someone who is on the edge of dying already. This line is followed by the line "Well, I'm begging on my knees".
The teenager is like a helpless soul who desparately needs help, yet cannot be helped. The next line, "Well, I'm begging on my knees", breaks the sequence of questions that start with "Can you". It is also the first line in the first six lines of the lyrics that consists of a comma and a contraction. This shows the teenager is speaking slowly with someone.
It can also be inferred that the person he is conversing with has a lot of patience to hear all of his inner thoughts he pours out one by one.
