I have only worn them a handful of times and the boast material is coming apart from the torque when I swing. If feels like the sole is going to rip off soon. Back to Puma for me. I like the original for exactly what the shoe did: Comfortable, stable, and water proof.
When transferring from an old pair of Boosts which had worn down, to a brand new pair, it felt like wearing stilts! I actually took time to measure — I was 6mm higher n the new Boost shoes. This is good news. Not good. I love my FJs, but do not believe there is one brand that fits everyone best. I have some Adidas on the way and hoping to like them. Heads-up that I had to exchange the first order for a larger size.
I wear medium fit most manufactures do not cater for proper fit. In conclusion it is false advertising that the spikes and other grips to the ground are superior if your foot is moving around inside the shoe.. Footjoy have always been blisters for me on the Achilles.
Ecco are so wide the top crumples up when you try to stop movement. Adidas are best of breed for Waterproofing and no blisters , some other brands may have better style but no where fit for purpose. Adidas for me best they best of breed and fit for purpose. I wish Altra would get in the golf shoe game. Shoes that are actually made to fit the human foot shape.
Both are comfortable and provide great support.. I play times a week and like the BOA version of both better than the laced version.
My Adidas shoes are not narrow. I wear an Adidas golf shoes are the only ones I wear, the best no doubt. Sadly the Tour with spikes was very quietly discontinued shown in your first picture , although you can still see the pros wearing them everywhere for some reason.
They were incredibly durable, and solid, and I imagine the reason they discontinued them was that they were just too darn good, and lasted too darn long.
I have a pair of AdiPure golf shoes and love them. Great traction, very comfortable and they are leather uppers! I have average width and they fit great. Footjoy BOAs are the best. I have probably 25 pairs of golf shoes. The last 5 pairs were Adidas. I like the style, fit, comfort, stability and grip. I wear my spikeless shoes to drive to the course and back and often keep them on while puttering around at home they are so comfortable.
I wear a 12 E and never had a problem with width. Even bought a pair of the new Stan Smith style golf shoe bringing me back to my HS days when I wore the Hailet model for tennis going through dozens of pairs over the years. Also have a couple pair of Sketchers bought recently which are the most comfortable shoes of all, but do lack in the performance area not being the most stable platform.
Switched to Adidas and they are so much more comfortable. As much as I play, I can attest to their stamina. Come on guys the pop up adds on this site have become so BAD I can barely read the article. Adidas golf shoes have always been really narrow. Even their leisure shoes are really narrow.
They have made a business decision to not target a major buying segment of the market. Totally agreed! I can wear a Footjoy size 10 XW, or a Adidas shoes are too narrow. I have one pair of Addidas and 4 pairs of Footjoy.
Footjoy last a long time and have a great warranty. Addidas does not have a great warranty. Your target market is young guys with copious amounts of money and not afraid to spend it on the latest and greatest drivers and other equipment. You recommend and these young bucks buy. I am an Adidas shoe fan and have been since I wore their soccer boots in college. The lasts they use just fit my foot really well, and I currently have 5 pairs of their golf shoes that I rotate. That said, I recently purchased a pair of Payntr X F golf shoes and they are the most comfortable shoes I own.
The traction is great for a spikeless shoe, and I will be buying a second pair this fall when they launch a new model s. For me, Payntr is giving Adidas a real run for my money. I have been a True Linkswear loyalist for years. I have to say there shoes for me are the best feeling golf shoe I have ever owned. Unfortunately aging…lol…my feet as of a couple of years ago required an orthotic insert.

These are one of the more expensive pairs of Adidas golf shoes, and they provide a nice balance of comfort and performance. This shoe is also very water resistant. The exterior of the shoe is made of material that repels water from rain or dew for those of you who like to golf in the early mornings. Unless water is coming in around the laces, you will not have to worry about your socks and feet getting wet. Overall, this is a very nice shoe that fits true to size. I feel like it is very comfortable up around the collar of the shoe, and provides me with a comfortable pair of shoes that provide adequate traction in basically all situations.
